Audrey Kawasaki has a beautiful new giclee print coming out tomorrow, September 4th at 1:00pm pacific time. “Migawari” is a 15″x19″ image on a 16″x20″ sheet of smooth cotton rag paper. The edition size is limited to only 200.

You can pick this up tomorrow unframed for $200, or framed for $450. The frame appears to be quite substantial and Audrey’s team takes great care in shipping her work.

Sami Rintala and Dagur Eggertsson make up the Norweigan architectural firm Rinalta  Eggertsson.   A recent (and impressive) build is The Ark, featured at the Victoria and Albert Museum in the Architects Build Small Spaces exhibit.  With small private rooms inside the structure, the Ark is a free standing dream of refuge for readers.  It carries around 6 thousand volumes. Andrew Zuckerman is a documentarian, a photographer, who puts his subjects in front of a plain white background and allows you to focus on what makes them special. You may remember his Bird Book which featured incredible images of exotic birds from around the world. His latest work is  called “Music” which does the same for a very different subject. The trailer below shows many of the artists involved with the film, and the roster is quite impressive.

Nimit Malavia‘s portfolio is quite robust and diverse. The illustrator, designer, painter from Ottawa, Ontario appears to have the skills to do it all. His portfolio includes several fantastic drawings, paintings, and even graphic design work.

John Ryan Solis captured my eye with his interesting compositions and subject matter. His studies in contrast (see below) and focus on the organic flowing shapes of human hair are very intriguing. Some of his work features a bit of illustrated nudity so it may be nsfw. View more below and much more at his website.

While a majority of the incredible art shows are limited to the coasts, sometimes we get the occasional gem in the midwest. Aaron Horkey’s Midwestern Heart is a selection of drawings from 2003-2010. Aaron has also produced a breathtaking art print for the opening which can be seen in full below. After the opening, prints will be made available online and we’ll keep you posted with release information. Tara McPherson has two new giclee prints coming out Monday, August 30th at 3 PM EST. Each piece is an edition of only 100 and  features a UV protective varnish. If you haven’t seen one of Tara’s prints in person I can attest that they are quite well made and the varnish gives a very rich quality to the print’s surface. Each print is $250. You can purchase one or both along with several other similar prints at the artist’s webstore.

Gallery 1988 has just released two versions of these three images painted by Rich Pellegrino for their “Crazy 4 Cult” show. The three paintings feature Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka, John Goodman as Walter from The Big Lebowski, and Bruce Campbell as Ash from the Evil Dead trilogy. The brushwork in these is really great, and my favorite piece is Wonka, although he’s my least favorite character of the three.

All three images are available as extremely affordable giclee prints in sizes 13″x19″ for $75ea, or 8.5″x11″ for $25ea. Each size and image has a different edition amount but all are 50 pieces or less. You can browse the full list of prints and more at Gallery 1988.
